A brand identity typically costs £1,500 to £5,000 for a logo with basic guidelines, and £5,000 to £20,000 for a full identity system with strategy, according to Whito's 2026 compilation of published UK pricing. None of the Jersey studios we checked publishes branding prices, so UK ranges are the clearest guide. What is included matters more than the headline figure.
What does a brand identity include?
A logo is one part of a brand identity, not the whole of it. A complete identity is the system that makes everything you publish look and sound like the same business:
| Element | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Logo and marks | A primary logo plus secondary versions: a simple mark that works as a profile picture, and versions for light and dark backgrounds |
| Colour | A primary and supporting palette, with the values for screen and print |
| Typography | The typefaces you use and how: headings, body text, emphasis |
| Tone of voice | How the brand writes and speaks, with examples of what to say and what to avoid |
| Guidelines | The rules that keep it consistent: spacing, sizes, what not to do with the logo |
| Asset library | Logo files in every format, plus templates for social posts, documents or signs |
Inkbot Design's 2026 pricing guide describes the output of a boutique studio in the same terms: “not just a logo” but “a brand identity system comprising primary and secondary marks,” with a colour system, typography hierarchy, art direction and a brand standards document. Lower-priced options usually leave most of that out, so compare what is included before you compare prices.
What does branding cost in the UK?
Whito's guide compiles UK logo and branding prices published by other agencies and pricing guides. These are UK market ranges, not Jersey quotes:
| What you buy (UK) | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Marketplace or DIY logo | £30 to £150 |
| Custom logo from a freelancer | £500 to £1,000 |
| Logo from a small agency | £1,000 to £2,000 |
| Logo from a mid-size agency, with strategy and options | £2,000 to £3,500 |
| Brand starter pack: logo plus guidelines (colours, fonts, usage rules) | £1,500 to £5,000 |
| Full brand identity: strategy, identity system and full asset set | £5,000 to £20,000 |
| Complete rebrand with strategy, research, positioning and rollout | £10,000 to £50,000+ |
Inkbot Design's guide splits the market by who does the work, again in pounds and for the UK:
| Provider (UK) | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| DIY and AI logo generators | £0 to £50 |
| Freelance marketplaces | £50 to £500 |
| Independent designers and small studios | £500 to £3,000 |
| Boutique branding studios (fewer than fifteen staff) | £3,000 to £25,000 |
| Global branding consultancies | £25,000 to £150,000+ |
What do Jersey branding studios charge?
We checked the websites of four Jersey studios that list branding as a service (iPOP Digital, Snap Design & Digital, The Idea Works and Image Matters) on 6 November 2026. None publishes a branding price; each asks you to get in touch or start a project brief instead. Snap's brand page, for example, says that if a project is a fit, “you get a clear proposal with scope, timings and cost.” Arctic Media doesn't publish branding prices either: we scope the project first, then quote.
That makes the UK ranges above the best public benchmark. Our guide to marketing agencies in Jersey shows which local agencies list branding among their services.
What makes a branding project cost more or less?
Whito puts the spread in its ranges down to who does the work, the number of concepts and revisions, and how many brand assets and how much rollout are included. In practice, the questions that move a quote are:
- Is it a new identity, or a refresh of one you already have?
- Is strategy included: research into your customers, competitors and positioning?
- How many initial directions, and how many rounds of revisions?
- How many logo versions and marks do you need?
- Are tone of voice and messaging part of the brief?
- How many applications are designed: signage, vehicles, print, social templates, a website?
Some things are often outside the price. Inkbot notes that at the lower tiers, trademark filing, brand strategy documents, stationery, social media assets and animated logos are usually excluded unless specified. Ask for an itemised scope so you compare like with like.
When should a business rebrand?
Not as often as people think. A rebrand is worth it when the business has changed; a refresh or a set of guidelines is often enough when only the presentation has drifted.
| Situation | Usually enough |
|---|---|
| Your logo is fine, but everyone uses it differently | Guidelines and templates |
| The logo looks dated or is unreadable as a profile picture | A refresh: same idea, redrawn and simplified |
| You now sell something different, to different people | A full rebrand, starting with strategy |
| A merger, new name or new ownership | A full rebrand |
| You are just starting out | A logo with starter guidelines, built to grow |
Questions people ask
Is a logo the same as a brand? No. The logo is the mark; the brand identity is the full system of colour, type, voice and rules around it.
Can I start with a cheap logo and upgrade later? You can, but budget for redoing it. A marketplace logo usually comes without strategy or guidelines, so you may pay twice.
What files should I receive? Vector logo files (such as SVG and EPS) plus PNG and PDF versions, colour values, the typefaces, and the guidelines document. Make sure you own the final files outright.
Should the brand work on social media? Yes. Most people in Jersey will meet your brand on a phone screen first, so test every concept as a profile picture and in a feed, not just on a letterhead. That is how we design at Arctic Media, and it is why branding feeds straight into our social media and website work. See what a Jersey website needs to win enquiries and how to choose an agency.
